Fair 2009

We finally were able to go to the fair on Saturday, and Jaden had a fun time! Carson had a fun time, too, but all he got to do was have all the snacks he wanted in the wagon, lol.

Here is Jaden getting ready to pet a horse.

The horse was very friendly.

It liked Jaden's hair.

He wanted to ride in the strawberries.

Then he wanted to ride in the "parachutes." He was very upset we didn't get in the number 1.

Becoming okay with being in the number 5.

After the ride was over, he didn't want to get off.

The boys just chillin'

Jaden absolutely loved the rabbit!

We walked past this duck, and Jaden asks it, "Are you a duck?"

Cool looking pigeon.

Our HUGE elephant ear.

Carson was loving the elephant ear.

Jaden didn't want anything to do with the elephant ear until he saw that Carson liked it. Jaden ended up asking for more.

All tuckered out. Jaden didn't get a nap on Saturday, and it was WAY past Carson's afternoon nap.

My morning this morning

Jaden woke up at 6:30am today. I made Chris get up with him. I heard Carson wake up a minute later, because Jaden started talking, but luckily Carson went back to sleep. I got to sleep for another hour until Carson woke up again. I expected Jaden and Chris to be in the living room watching TV, but I couldn't find them. I finally looked, again, in Jaden's room, and this is what I saw.

It is very hard to keep Carson from going down the hall and into Jaden's room, so I decided it was time for breakfast. I let him feed himself the yogurt, because he was screaming for it, and I didn't want to wake Chris and Jaden up.

While Carson was continuing to make a mess, and I was done making pancake batter, I checked on Chris and Jaden again.

Jaden saw that I had the camera on the table, and he wanted to take some pictures. I showed him where to put his hand, and what button to press, and these are the pictures he took. These are his first pictures ever!

Put the two pictures together, and you might have almost one full picture, lol.

Garbage can part duex

Yesterday morning Jaden begged me to make his garbage can again. After throwing all his garbage away (the numbers) he begged me even more to put him in the garbage can. I put him in it and "closed" it (put the zero on top). He has a hay-day in there!

Carson was trying to climb it, but he never let me get a picture of him doing so.

Today, Jaden begged, again, for me to make him his garbage can.

This time he actually stood up in it.

He kept saying, "Say cheese, Mommy!"

He also kept asking me to take more pictures,

so I took a video.

Elmo

For quite awhile now Jaden has been refusing to eat dinner. The only dinner he'll eat is homemade macaroni and cheese. Last night, though, he ate less than half of what I gave him. Instead, he fed it to Elmo.

I told him to say cheese. I think the red-eye flash was too bright for him.

I finally got one with his eyes open...most of the way, lol.

He also got a hair cut yesterday. It's a little shorter than I asked for, but oh well. It will be back to a mop before Christmas and his birthday. =) His hair this short just makes him look older than he is. =(

I love watching him sleep

Well, I love watching both my boys sleep, but I didn't want to bug Jaden today, because I don't even think he was asleep yet when I put Carson down. Carson rarely falls asleep nursing these days (but he still "has" to nurse to go to sleep), so I cherish those moments. I should get rid of the bear on his pillow, because he has never liked it. He's never taken to any type of lovey we've given him. Chris's mom got him a doggy for Christmas, which is a little different than the other lovies we've tried, and he didn't like it then, either. I just got it out the other day, because we left Jaden's blanky and bear at Chris's parents' house. We got out all the lovies, and Jaden took them all to bed with him that night. When Jaden woke up the next morning he brought all the lovies out with him. Carson immediately took to the doggy. I've been giving it to him the three times he nurses to go to sleep (morning nap, afternoon nap, and bed time). He has been sleeping with it ever since, and I think it's just precious. =)

The boys and me

I'm not usually one to post pictures of myself, especially without makeup on, but the boys looked really cute in this picture. They were both sitting on my lap, so I had Chris snap a couple pictures. Jaden actually said, "Say cheese!" and smiled! So here we are. Don't mind me, lol.

Most of a day in the life of an only child

Jaden spent the night at Chris's parents' house Saturday night, so Carson had Mommy, Daddy, and the house and toys all to himself from dinner Saturday through after his second nap (waking up around 4:00 p.m.) Sunday. Another hobby of his is to get in the cabinets under the bathroom sink and playing with my stuff. I was about to get in the shower, and I couldn't resist taking his picture.

While I was in the shower Chris made Carson lunch. He also gave Carson his first blackberry. He absolutely LOVED it!

After Carson woke up from his second nap we headed out to Chris's parents' house for dinner and to bring Jaden home. Even though the pool was a cold, 70 degrees, Jaden wanted in anyway. Well, because Jaden was in the pool, Carson wanted in the pool. Luckily he only wanted to sit and dangle his feet in to splash. Nobody wanted in the pool with Jaden, so we got him out and turned on a sprinkler. Jaden was a bit skiddish, and he kept moving the sprinkler around. Finally we got him to stop so I could take a few pictures. Carson was having fun in the sprinkler, but alas, Jaden started moving it again after I got my few pictures.

Carson loved every minute of having Mommy, Daddy, the house and toys all to himself. Now that he's walking, I think he wishes he were an only child more often. Jaden still loves his baby brother, but even though Carson's been able to get into Jaden's toys, and stuff, for awhile, now that Carson's walking Jaden is all sorts of stingy and taking things away from Carson. Such is the life of siblings.

Jaden's garbage can

I had built a square box out of these numbers, and Jaden called it a garbage can. I had taken it apart, put all the numbers back together, and was feeding Carson so he'd go down for his nap when Jaden asked me to build another garbage can. Since I was busy nursing Carson, Chris built a 2 story garbage can. Jaden "threw away" all the numbers and proceeded to "climb" through the hole where the number 8 was. I think he got stuck, but I don't remember. If he did, he didn't seem to mind at all, lol.
