15 month check-up
After getting rescheduled we had Jaden's 15 month check-up today. He is 24 lbs and 33 1/2 inches. He's grown 2 inches and 1 lb in 3 months. He's our tall, skinny boy. Here he is after he climbed up the swing set kit box and onto/into the bottled water box.

He looks so grown up
Jaden got his hair cut today. Boy was it long overdue! It was his second haircut, but first professional one. I vowed never to cut his hair again after the first time, because I butchered it so bad. We both went to Verna this morning. I kept putting it off and putting it off, because I love his hair, but he really needed it cut. He looks so grown up now. Awe =( I already miss his long hair, but he needed it cut badly. He's growing up way too fast!

The vacuum
You'd think that because all I did at work was vacuum while pregnant with Jaden that he'd be used to that sound. NOPE! Jaden has been scared to death of the vacuum his entire life. If you get the vacuum out he runs. Well on Easter Chris got out the vacuum to do the living room. Our vacuum sucks (or doesn't, litterally), so we have to vacuum with the hose. It's a pain in the butt, but that's how we have to do it until we get enough money to buy a new vacuum. So, while I was in the shower and getting ready for the day, Chris vacuumed. I guess Chris would put the hose up to Jaden and "vacuumed" Jaden. When I was done getting ready Chris told me that Jaden finally made peace with the vacuum. That's also when he told me he "vacuumed" Jaden. When it was time to go to the store Jaden didn't want to put the vacuum down. What a good little helper! (No, the vacuum wasn't on.)

Easter
Grandma Charles opened the bubbles!
Today was Jaden's second Easter, but first Easter he could actually participate in the activities. He had an Easter egg hunt here, at home, then had one at his Great Grandma Splattstoesser's house (GG's house). Jaden's grandma and grandpa Charles came over a little after noon, then we had his Easter egg hunt at home. He learned by the second egg to pick it up and put it in the basket. He was such a good boy with the whole thing. By the time we got to his GG's house he knew exactly what to do. When it was time for the Easter egg hunt there, he passed all the candy on the ground and went straight for the eggs (because he knew, from earlier in the day, that the eggs had candy in them). He fell asleep in the car, on the way home from GG's house. He had only had a 40 minute nap earlier in the day (Grandpa Charles rang the doorbell), so he was pretty tired.

Blue's Clues
There's two shows I let Jaden watch (the only two shows I can stand watching) - Blue's Clues and Ni Hao, Ki-Lan. The music and little kid voices keep him watching the whole show. This is Jaden, this morning, watching Blue's Clues. I was actually impressed it was on, because Ki-Lan took it's place. Look how intently Jaden is watching!

Fun in the sun
A couple weekends ago we had a gorgeous day. It reached about 65 degrees. While we were waiting for some friends to come over for a bbq we went outside with Jaden. Jaden absolutely loves being outside, so this was the perfect day for it. Jaden had a blast digging in the dirt, sweeping, and just running around the backyard in general. This may be the first day of Spring, but I can't wait for the weather to get to what it was a couple weeks ago, and warmer! (I forgot to add - Jaden also learned how to open and close the screen door. He had a ball doing that, too!)

Teeth brushing and TV
Jaden loves brushing his teeth. He always wants to brush his teeth whenever I brush mine. I brush his teeth, then I give him his toothbrush to do it himself while I brush mine. About two weeks ago I did just that. When I was done brushing my teeth I yelled for Jaden to come into the bathroom and give me his toothbrush, because we were done brushing our teeth. This is where I found him - sitting on the couch "changing channels" on the TV. I thought it was so cute!

Mr. Bear
So, before Jaden was born I bought him a security blanket. It has a bear for a head. We now call it Mr. Bear. When we transitioned Jaden to his crib from his raised play yard we started having him sleep with Mr. Bear. That means he's been sleeping with him since he was 2 1/2 months old. Yesterday was the first day he refused to sleep with any of the other two security blankets we have. He had put Mr. Bear into the diaper pail (he knows he's not supposed to do that), so I had to wash him and dry him before Jaden would take his nap. Jaden was so tired, but he refused to take a nap without Mr. Bear. While it was kind of cute (because he's still so young), it just means that that's one more thing we have to get him detached from - the other being his beloved binky (which he only gets when he sleeps).

Our trip to Idaho
So, the last weekend in Feb, we took a trip to Rexburg, ID to visit Nicole, Will, and our new niece, Ryan. I can't speak for Chris, but I didn't want to leave; It was great to get away. I miss Nicole and Will, and now that they have a baby it seems I miss them more. I wish they lived so much closer. Jaden loved his new baby cousin so much! It was so cute to see him with her. He wanted to be wherever the baby was, and always wanted to give her loves or kisses. Jaden also loves his Aunt Nicole and Uncle Willie.

Then and Now
Then (one day old, and after a couple changes in outfits)
Now (14 1/2 months old)
Jaden was born December 27, 2006. I can't believe how fast time flies! He is now 14 1/2 months old, and he seems to be going on 20 (years old, that is)! This boy just wants to grow up faster than we want him to. We just put him in a toddler bed 2 or 3 weeks ago, and he absolutely LOVES it. He has been walking since he was 10 months old, and he hasn't stopped. If he's outside, you better not try holding his hand, because he won't have anything to do with it!
