Picnic table and a kiddie pool

The other day I was at Target getting a kiddie pool for the boys, and I came across this awesome table. You can fill half with water and half with sand and have a good old time. I didn't get any sand on Friday, so we just filled both sides with water. The boys were having fun in just the water, though. The other cool thing about this table is that there's a green "lid" that goes on top, and, voila, it's a picnic table!

I made Carson's hair into a Mohawk.

Three days and three kiddie pools later we finally got a pool that wasn't ripped. Carson thought it was too cold, but enjoyed riding the dolphin.

Carson was done; he wanted out.

No clue what Jaden was doing here, lol.

Jaden was standing on the fish to get more water to spray out.

After the boys were done in the pool we poured some sand we had gotten earlier that day into half of the table. Jaden was loving trying to build a sand castle.

Here's the sand castle.

And here's Jaden demolishing it seconds later.

Silly Carson

Carson was being silly on Wednesday. He was trying to do chin-ups on the freezer, lol. He took a little break and decided to give Mommy a big, cheesy smile, then went back to doing chin-ups.

His new trick is pointing. He learned how to put just one finger out and point and poke stuff.

Idaho trip 2009

For Memorial Day Weekend we went to Idaho to visit my sister, brother-in-law, niece, and new nephew. Thursday was a long day. I didn't have Jaden take a nap, because I knew he'd sleep in the car on the way to my Aunt Linda's house (we were leaving, when Chris got home from work, to drive halfway to Rexburg that night.) The boys and I went to WalMart to get some last minute things (diapers are a must!) and topped off the gas tank on the way home. While I was finishing the packing Jaden passed out on the floor in the living room; poor guy.

On the way to Caldwell we stopped so many times. I didn't think Carson would be such a "bad" traveler, but he was. He didn't like not getting attention, so he'd scream bloody murder until we stopped and let him out of his carseat for a bit. We didn't get to my Aunt's house until after midnight (with the time change).

We left my Aunt's house around 9:15 a.m., gassed up, and headed for Rexburg. I don't remember what time I took these pictures, but both boys were passed out.

I'm impressed I got such a "good" picture of Carson considering I was in the front seat. I had to guess at where the camera was pointing at his face, since he's rear facing.

We were at a rest stop either right before Twin Falls, or right after, when I decided we should move around stuff in the folded down third row of seats so one seat could sit up, and I could sit in it to keep carson some company. I was tired of stopping at every single rest stop, because he wouldn't stop screaming no matter what we did. This is Carson in a MUCH better mood now that I was in the seat behind him and could pay attention to him. Too bad it made me car sick.

Jaden getting ready to watch Cars.

Another happy picture of Carson.

After stopping at the hotel to check in and drop some stuff off in the room we finally made it to Nicole's house! I think Carson was yelling at Ryan.

Don't let size fool you in age. Ryan (my niece) is 15 months old, 29 inches and 19 lbs. Carson is 9 months old, 28.75 inches and 20.7 lbs.

Me holding Baby Owen.

Now on to Saturday. Carson wanted to be up by the baby.

Carson being a big cheeser.

Jaden had gotten in trouble for doing I don't remember what now. For the life of him he wouldn't sit in time-out. We had told him it's either time-out or a nap, and he said, "Nope!" to both. After another minute of him not getting his way he said, "Jaden take a nap." Chris put Jaden in the pack-n-play upstairs, and a little while later this is where I found him. The door to the bedroom wasn't even shut, and he didn't even try to get out, lol.

Another cute picture of Owen.

One of Carson's favorite places to be, whether Owen was there or not.

After Jaden woke up from his nap (OK, we kind of helped wake him up) we walked down to the park. On the way back Carson totally passed out on my shoulders; sweet baby.

After breakfast and checking out of the hotel we went across the street (from the hotel) to the falls of the Snake River. It was slightly raining, so we didn't stay too terribly long.

Carson just loved Owen!

Here I am trying to get a decent picture of all 4 cousins. Jaden would not cooperate.

Because of how Carson was in the car on the way to Nicole's house we decided to drive halfway back home (to my Aunt's house again) on Sunday and finish the drive home on Monday. While we all waited for Carson to fall asleep (which didn't happen until about midnight!) we all chatted. While we all chatted Jaden decided to hop into Sadie's carrier (my cousin, Breanne's, dog).

We left a bit after 2 p.m. on Monday, and Carson actually slept very well in the car! We made it home in 4.5 hours! We got home around 5:45 p.m. after the time change back. I have been trying to catch up on my sleep ever since.

Chicken and Biscuits

For the first time ever none of Carson's dinner ended up on the floor! He actually devoured his dinner, and then he rubbed what was on his hands onto his face. The first picture I caught him starting a "funny" tantrum (he does them for fun, and they only last a second).

Brothers playing together

We started off the day with Jaden bringing out his couch from his bedroom. Carson was climbing all over it, so I set him down on it to take a picture.

Jaden realized Carson was on his couch, so he sat on it, too. As soon as I got the camera back out Jaden was "all done." Carson decided to throw a tantrum and yell at Jaden for getting off the couch.

After a little while Jaden unfolded the couch. Carson was still climbing on it, so I put the sleeping bag part of the now bed on him. Jaden had to get in on the action, too. Carson was a very tired baby, who was fighting his nap.

Later on, before lunch, we went outside to swing. Carson is terrified of the baby swing, so after a couple minutes I put him on the big boy swing. He loved it!

Jaden was practicing pumping his legs. When he swung forward he'd say, "Out," and when he swung backwards he'd say, "In." He also did the motions with his legs!

Around 3:15 p.m. we went on about an hour long walk in the 90+ degree weather. Silly me wore flip-flops and got a little blister. We all got a little red, but that's mostly gone now. My reasoning behind the walk was to see if Carson would fall asleep. I think it worked, but it was by the time we were almost back to the house. When I stopped the stroller at the stoop he had his eyes open...barely.
