This is my newest growing belly picture. I was 25w1d yesterday.

Just chillin'

Jaden is 16 months old today! We had waffles for breakfast. Jaden likes to hang around until after Chris and I are finished eating, so after we were done we went into the living room. A little bit later I heard Jaden scoot his chair out (usually meaning he's done). I asked if he was done and pushed him back to the table. He started eating again, so obviously he wasn't done. A little while later he was being rather quiet so Chris went to check it out. Jaden had pushed his chair out from from table (we didn't hear it), and decided to put his feet up onto the table. Chris hurries me into the kitchen so I don't miss it. I quickly got my camera and snapped this picture. He's too smart for his age I tell ya! (And no, we have never propped our feet on the table, so I don't know where he got that from.)

Teaching

I told myself I was going to start trying harder to make Jaden fall asleep for his naps all by himself, like he used to before we started transitioning him to his toddler bed. Instead of me putting him in his crib at nap time, and him falling asleep on his own (like he has from birth), when we started taking the front railing off of the crib to get him used to the toddler bed, I started having him sit/lay on the couch with me to fall asleep. When we got the toddler bed a few weeks later I just put him into his room, on his bed, to take a nap. Only a couple times did he get out of bed, then he was good about staying in his bed. Well, that all went to poop, because the next time he got out of bed, and I put him back in bed, then he got out again, I just started having him be on the couch with me, again, until he fell asleep. After Jaden would fall asleep, I'd put him in his bed. Well, once last week, and today, I "locked" him in his room and didn't open the door when he tried to get out. When I didn't hear anything, today, I went to his room and peeked under the door to see if he was out of bed. He must've heard me get down on the floor, because the next thing I see was him getting off his bed, coming to the door and trying to open it. He then realized the door wasn't getting opened for him, so he started playing with the toy that's right next to the door. At that time I went back out to the living room. A few minutes later I went back to check on Jaden. I saw that he was asleep, so I tried to open the door to at least put a blanket on him. This is as far as I could open the door. I sneeked my arm, with camera, in the little crack in the door and snapped this photo. I was able to put a blanket on him, but it took a few minutes. Every time he falls asleep on the floor (which has only been a few times) he uses Mr. Bear as a pillow...so cute!

Pajama party

Today was a lazy day for all of us. Chris is getting over being sick, and I just started getting sick. I decided we were all going to just stay in our pajamas for the day. Jaden even joined in on the festivities. I decided that I was finally going to make the cupcakes I've been wanting since before I got pregnant. (I know that's not so lazy, but I really wanted them.) Jaden was my little helper. He ate the cake batter off the scraper (multiple times), and while I was frosting the cupcakes Jaden was eating a cupcake. He made such a mess. You can't really see in the pictures, but it's all over his hair (his favorite thing to do while he's eating anything).

Reading the paper

The other day, before I started making dinner, Jaden was playing...like he does. He really loves his rocking chair (used to be mine). He decided he was done making a huge mess with his mega blocks when he saw the Tidbits paper on the floor. He got into his rocking chair and started reading the paper.

Just like Mom

Well, like I said in the last blog, Jaden is a sponge. He was laying on his stomach, reading a book on the couch, so I took that opportunity to start dinner. I scrolled through all the shows and movies we have DVR'd to get to Baby Signing Time and started it. As I was cooking dinner I would peek around the corner to see if he was still on the couch watching the show. This is what I peeked in on one of those times. He had sat himself up, leaned against the couch, and put the blanket on himself. I may sit a little farther over on the couch, but he was sitting (leaning) on the couch with the blanket on himself just like I do. Again, too cute!

Cereal

I've caught Jaden doing this a couple times now, but I finally got a picture of it today. Instead of me feeding him his cereal I have been letting him do it himself. He seems to eat better when he gets to do it. Jaden is such a little sponge now. He picks up on every single little thing we do. Well, when I am done with my cereal I drink the milk out of the bowl. Jaden now does this, too, and it is so cute! Sadly, he takes his bib off halfway through breakfast (well, any meal of the day), so he got soaked today (doesn't get soaked everyday). He also makes a bit of a mess, (you can kind of see the milk on the table) but he's never going to learn if we don't let him figure it out!

Computer nerd

Two days ago we were getting ready to go to Lowe's to look for a new faucet for our kitchen sink. I had Jaden all ready to go except putting his shoes on. I was finishing up in the bathroom for a quick minute, and Jaden didn't follow me like usual. This is where I found him. How cute is that?! He looks like he knows exactly what he's doing. (I'm sure he thinks he does, too.) He likes to click on the mouse buttons. He gets really excited when he clicks the right mouse button and the "back, reload, forward, bookmark this page, etc..." thing comes up. I think we have a computer nerd on our hands!

Being silly

I was babysitting the two kids of a friend of mine today. One is almost 2 1/2, and the other is 4 months. I went to the storage area on the back of our house and got out the ExerSaucer for the baby. The whole time it was out (and it still is) Jaden was loving playing with it. You'd think he thought it was brand new! (I guess to him it was, since he doesn't really remember it.) After my friend came to pick her boys up this is what Jaden did. He just thought it was the coolest thing!

Jaden's new toy

Jaden has taken on a new fascination, which is one of my bras. Every time he's in my room he goes straight to it and plays with it. Tonight Chris was putting away some work shirts, so Jaden followed. This is what I walked in on.

He then decided to throw off a pair of clothes I had on this storage container and climb on top of it.

Chocolate

So I let Jaden have a little chocolate egg tonight. Rather than biting off a piece and giving it to him, like I usually do, I gave him the whole thing. He had quite the chocolate mustache. I tried to get a picture of it, but he moved. This is the picture I got when he moved. When I say moved, I mean he kissed my leg. Notice the two brown spots on the blanket that's on my lap? Yeah, that's where he kissed my leg.

I did get a great picture of him opening his mouth, though.
