Pumpkin Patch 2009

We went to the pumpkin patch today, and the kids had a lot of fun! The first thing we did was go through the hay bale maze. Both boys liked it.

Carson kept having to touch and feel the hay. He was very intrigued by it.

Chris, Jaden and my mom climbing the giant hay bale mountain.

Carson thought he'd try to climb, too.

Jaden and my mom at the top!

Jaden begged and begged to go on the bouncy house, but was scared to death when he got on. After seeing a few kids go through he tried, but still got scared. I pretty much made him, and he ended up loving the huge slide at the end.

It wasn't that Carson didn't like the bouncy house - he just wanted to nurse.

Our pumpkin patch family.

Getting ready for the hay ride to the pumpkin patch. Carson climbed they hay bales and wanted to stand up.

Daddy and his boys. Carson was just chillin'.

Grandma, Daddy, and the boys.

Carson thinking about which one he wants.

Carson found his pumpkin!

Jaden sitting with all the pumpkins. I wanted a picture of Carson in the wagon, too, but he nursed on the hay ride back and passed out.

Jaden on the big, red tractor.

Carson didn't even wake up when I was putting him in his car seat. He was such a spaghetti noodle that I didn't even get the harness where it should've been. I didn't notice until I looked at the pictures, though. =(

Fighting naps

About 20 minutes before I took these pictures Carson was laying up by his pillow, on his back, with one of his feet through the guard rail. The only reason I didn't take a picture of that was because when I opened the door to his room he started stirring, and I wanted him to go back to sleep; he needed to still be asleep.

I found the only picture of Jaden like this, too. Jaden was 13 months old here. So cute!

Fire!

We (Chris) built our first fire last night. It smelled soooooooo good! Carson was absolutely infatuated with it. I think up until bath time he was glued to being right in front of it. Our fireplace puts out soooo much heat. It was 72 degrees in the house, and after about half an hour to an hour it was 80. Our room, which never gets heat from the fire (last room at the very end of the crooked end of the hallway), and I could feel the heat from the fire in there. We've actually had the fire going all day today, and I was actually sweating it was so hot in here! I love building fires!

Tired baby

I think Carson, since he started sleeping in until at least 8am, is trying to transition to one nap a day. By the end of the day he is super tired. On my way to bed Thursday night (the night we made cookies) I went to check on him. I had laid him down a little on his side, but I guess he rolled onto his back (which he NEVER does) and passed out. This is how I found him. It was pitch dark in the room, so I'm impressed this picture turned out so well. He has been sleeping on his tummy since he was 5 weeks old, and flat out refused to sleep on his back, so I thought this was really cute. :)

Cookies!

We decided to make cookies Thursday night (after making the dough the day before). Jaden had so much fun! By the time they came out of the oven and were ready to frost it was bath and bed time for the boys. We let Jaden help frost 4 cookies (one for each of us) with his own (not sharp - just for looks) knife. He was in heaven.

The pink one was a firetruck, the blue and green one was a football helmet, the yellow one was a star, and the purple and orange one was supposed to be a 'J' for Jaden, but Chris used the candy cane on accident, lol.

Carson enjoying his little star

Jaden enjoying his fake 'J'. He was "clicking" the camera, although it looks like he's telling me, "Wait just one minute, Mom; let me enjoy this cookie first."

Woodland Park Zoo

Monday, after the Seahawks game, we went to Woodland Park Zoo. Chris had said it was going to be a beautiful day, but we forgot that my beautiful and his beautiful are two completely different things, meaning I didn't bring a jacket for myself. Luckily one of the four other people who came to the zoo with us had an extra pull-over, because I was freezing my butt off even with that on. It didn't rain while we were at the zoo, but it sure was windy. Jaden had our friend's girlfriend's parents wrapped around his little fingers. He got whatever he wanted from them, lol. Here are only some of the tons of pictures I took. Yes, I uploaded a lot of pictures, but this is nothing compared to what I took.

Cool bird out in the open in the Aviary

Another pretty bird wandering the Aviary

The duck with the white and black hair (mostly white) is what I was trying to get a picture of. I had dropped my camera at the wedding we went to on Saturday, so a lot of my pictures ever since have not been turning out very well. This duck had quite the hair-do. You could tell he was trying to "get in with the ladies" (meaning that what his hair-do was for).

Jaden, the turtle

We finally let Carson out of the wagon to see the Jaguar. This was Jaden's absolute favorite animal (thanks, Diego).

Baby Ocelot. So cute!

Very pretty Tucan

Carson cheesing it up at the Gorillas

Tree Kangaroo

Reticulated Python

King Cobra

Sloth Bear

Big kitties :)

This is a bad picture, but the best one I got of the Snow Leopard and her babies.

Jaden and Carson, the Snow Leopards (Carson was crying, because I took the empty Dr. Pepper bottle away for the picture, lol).

Kangaroo

Big Bear!

Pretty Mountain Goat

Jaden posing with the otter. I did get a couple pictures of the otters, but they were swimming so fast that the pictures turned out crappy. :(

While we were looking at pretty much nothing, the bears and otters got fed (hence why the otters were moving so fast).

Orangutan

I don't remember what kind of monkey this was.

You can't tell by this picture how absolutely HUGE this Elephant was. This picture makes this Elephant look like a baby Elephant. I wish there were something to show just how big it was.

Jaden finally got his butterfly lollipop that he begged for (and our friend's girlfriend's parents got him). He was so tuckered out he only got a few licks/bites in before he passed out.

If I remember right Carson was passed out before we left the Zoo parking lot...which wasn't more than a minute. Both boys slept all the way to Ellensburg!
