I'm addicted!

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I'm a paintaholic. I've been sober for about 11 hours. I downloaded Paint.net a little over a year ago and did some work with it. I did a few pictures and called it quits - not because I didn't like doing photo edits, but because I couldn't think of a different way to do them. All I would do was turn a color picture into black and white, then erase what I wanted colored. I have recently joined a group on CafeMom that helps you learn how to do all sorts of photo edits, and I'm really enjoying learning how to do them (even if some of them really frustrate me).

Here are the first ones I ever did (over a year ago). Sometimes I don't remember Jaden ever being that small!

And here are the ones I've done since I picked up my addiction again. Some of them are like the above, but I'm still learning lots of new tricks. The last three are of my neice, Ryan. There's also one I really liked, but didn't put on here, because I did it of a friend's baby and wanted to keep her privacy. There will be more to come soon!

Books

I was on the phone with a friend of mine today, and Jaden would not stop hounding me to read him a book. I kept telling him I would read him a book after I was off the phone, but he just kept whining and whining. He would even go get different books for me hoping that would make me read to him. His whining got worse and worse, and he would not stop shoving books onto my lap. He had woken up quite a bit earlier than usual today, so when his whining got worse I told him it was nap time, and I put him to bed. After I got off the phone I opened Jaden's door so I could check on him. This is what I saw when I opened the door. I guess he really, really wanted me to read him a book. He got off his bed, went to the shelf where his books are, got this big book, went back onto his bed and fell asleep reading it. Obviously it's on the page with all the different kind of vehicals, lol. How cute!

Brotherly love

Jaden just loves his brother so much. This is Jaden being "nice" to Carson. He gentally "pets" Carson's head and usually says, "Nice" while doing so.

And here's Jaden giving yet more kisses to his baby brother.

Both are things Jaden does multiple times daily. Jaden is constantly giving kisses and being "nice" to his baby brother. If I took a picture every time Jaden did these things my memory card would be full, lol.

New diggs

For my birthday present I got to get my hair cut and highlighted. I know my birthday isn't until October, but my hair stylist was able to get me in on the day I called (Wednesday). It actually worked out great that I got in early, because my driver's license expires on my birthday this year. I went and renewed my license today, since I had my new look. I love it. I really missed my blonde.

Jaden produces milk...

...Or so he thinks! As I was getting ready to pump to relieve some engorgement, as it's been awhile since Carson has eaten on one side, Jaden decided to grab the parts to the pump. He lifted his shirt all the way up, with one hand, and put the pump on his belly (he's seen me do this a few times). He's done it before, but wouldn't let me get a picture of him doing it. This time I caught him in the act! He is such a little sponge (and has been for quite awhile now). He sees anything we do, and he tries to do it, too.

Getting stronger

Carson is only a mere 6 weeks old, but he has great neck and arm strength. These pictures don't do justice to his arm strength, because he's elevated on the checkered pillow. He also rolled over from tummy to back at 3 1/2 weeks old, and has been doing it ever since. He's getting so big!

Fun in a drawer

Jaden just cracks me up sometimes. He always has to be in the bathroom when I'm taking a shower. It doesn't matter what he's doing in the bathroom, he just has to be in there. Well, I was taking a shower yesterday, and Jaden got quiet. I peeked out, and this is what I saw. I yelled at Chris to come into the bathroom. When Chris got in the bathroom he started laughing. He went to go get the camera, and these are the pictures he took. The first one got Jaden by surprise. The second looks like Jaden was posing, lol. The last one looks like a pose, too, because Chris asked Jaden to take the dolphin out of his mouth. (This drawer is where we keep the bath toys.)

Carson is 1 month old already!

Carson turned a month old today. Time went by so fast! He was 8 lbs 1 oz and 21.5 inches long when he was born. When we left the hospital, the next day, he was 7 lbs 13 oz. He had a doctor's appointment on August 25, making him 3 weeks and 2 days old. He was a whopping 9 lbs 10 oz, and 21.75 inches long. In three weeks he had gained nearly two pounds! He's a very good eater and a very good sleeper. Here are the pictures I took of him today. Sorry - I'm not the best photographer in the world, but I try, haha.
