Pumpkin painting and carving fun
We had a fun night last night. First we made cupcakes, then we had dinner, then we painted and carved pumpkins. Carson slept through the whole thing. We had my little sister, Shelby, come over and help with the festivities, and when it was time for Shelby to go home Jaden was really upset. The second Daddy and Aunt Shelby shut the door Jaden started screaming, "Shelby! Shelby!" over and over again. He came to me, got into my lap, and cried on my shoulder. I should have taken a picture of Jaden crying for Shelby. It really was sweet. Jaden just absolutely loves his Aunt Shelby.

Bathtub thief
I decided I wanted to take a bath today so I could relax a bit. I turned on the water, went into the nursery to give Carson a binky and came back to the bathroom. Somehow I just knew, when I didn't see, or hear Jaden, that he probably climbed into the tub. He absolutely loves baths. Every time I start the water for my showers he says, "Bath" over and over again, along with trying to get in. He seized the opportunity of me being out of the bathroom to sneak into the tub, pants and all. And yes, he was brushing his teeth, as well - something else he loves to do.

Finally a nap!
Jaden has been boycotting his naps lately. As tired as he is he fights and fights to stay awake. For almost a week now he has actually not been fighting his naps. I'll put him in his room, give him everything he sleeps with (lion, baby chick, Mr. Bear, and his blanky), put the covers on him and shut the door (after telling him "night night" and "I love you"). Most days this week he has gotten out of bed and played with his toys before falling asleep (a couple of these days he's actually stayed in bed and fallen asleep without playing with his toys). This particular day he did just that - got out of bed and played with his toys before falling asleep. This day, however, he brought all the stuff he sleeps with onto the floor with him. I love watching him sleep, whether it be on the floor or in his bed, lol. I only wish I could sleep so soundly.

Boo-boo
A week and a half ago Jaden was up by the front door playing with the door to the coat closet, which is a two panel folding door. All of a sudden I hear this gut wrenching scream. I look over at Jaden and the door, and I had no clue why he was screaming - the closet door looked shut. Well, Jaden continued to scream, so I got up to see what was wrong. The second I stood up I realized Jaden must have had the palm of his hand stuck between the folds of the door. When I realized this I ran the rest of the way to him. I quickly opened the door to release his poor hand. I scooped him up and loved on him. I cuddled and cuddled him and didn't let go. After awhile, when he had finally calmed down, I got a couple of pictures of his hand. They aren't the best pictures, but it gives you an idea of what part of his hand got pinched in the door. The last picture was how his hand looked the next morning. To this day, nearly two weeks later, you can still see where his hand got pinched.

Big brother, Little brother
I know I've said this before, but Jaden just loves his baby brother. He was in a good mood (like usual after his baths) this night, and wanted to be up in my lap like Brother was. Jaden got up into my lap, and was being cute, so I posed Carson on Jaden and made Chris take a picture. As you can see Jaden also has my phone and was talking to one of his friends, haha.
Again, I had Brother in my lap, so of course Jaden wanted up in my lap, too. Jaden loves to hold his brother. Once in awhile I'll put Jaden in the corner of the couch and place Carson in Jaden's arms for a picture, but every other time I'm right there by his side. I will let Jaden hold Carson a few times a week, so long as I'm right by his side. As soon as I tell Jaden to let go of Brother Jaden grabs a hold of him tighter. Jaden loves holding Carson so much that he hates to let him go. The only reason Jaden doesn't have his hands around Carson is because Daddy had the camera out, lol.
I was in the kitchen last night washing out my pump attachments, and Jaden was in the kitchen with me. I was rinsing out the last of the attachments as I hear Carson start to make a little noise (he was on the back part of the couch in the living room). Jaden runs into the living room saying, ever so caring, "Goodness, goodness." As I'm putting that last attachment on the bottle drying rack I hear Carson scream. My first thought is that Jaden touched Carson a little too hard while trying to console him. I run into the living room and Carson is on the floor on the opposite side and end of the couch. I didn't see it happen, but Jaden had picked up his baby brother, then realized Brother was too heavy for him to carry, and Jaden dropped Carson. Carson was on his back, and Jaden's hands were underneath Carson. I know Jaden was trying to be sweet, but it scared me to DEATH. I was shaking for quite awhile after the incedent, and crying. Don't worry, Carson was totally fine when I got to him and picked him up - he even started smiling and laughing - but I was still a wreck for a few hours afterwards.

Another "new" toy
Carson has recently taken a liking to standing. I'll hold him up on the couch and he will just stand forever. Since he hated the Bumbo seat we got him a couple weeks ago, and he is liking standing, I figured I would get out the ExerSaucer and see if he liked it. He doesn't know what to do with the saucer yet, but he does seem to like it - meaning he'll stay in it for quite awhile before getting fussy. He likes looking in the mirror you can barely see in the first picture, and in the last two pictures he was watching T.V.

Sad dreams
Carson had been asleep for 2 hours, and I heard him start to wake up. I waited a few minutes to go and get him, just to make sure he was really waking up and not just stirring. His noises got louder, and he kept making those noises, so I went into his room to get him out of his crib. When I got into his room he wasn't awake - he was sound asleep. He was having a really sad dream, and the noises I was hearing over the monitor were whimpers. It was so sad. It sounded like someone had left him, and he was saying, "No, don't leave me!" He was so upset. I hate when my babies have sad/bad dreams. I actually started crying. I went into the living room, and a couple minutes later thought to take a video of him whimpering. Of course, the second I hit the button he pretty much stopped, but I kept the camera on just in case he started up again. What you hear (other than Jaden in the background) is the very end of Carson's whimpering. You can almost barely hear it. It was MUCH louder before I thought to get the camera out. This just doesn't do justice to what it really was, but I waited too long to get the camera out. He also stopped making his little sad, crying face, so you don't get to see that, either.

Blog Award
I have received a blog award from one of my dearest friends.
Here is the translation to the saying:
“This blog invests and believes, in ‘proximity’ [meaning, that blogging makes us 'close' - being close through proxy] "They are all charming blogs, and the majority of them aim to show the marvels of friendship; there are persons who are not interested when we give them a prize, and then they help to cut these bows; do we want that they are cut, or that they propagate?"Then let’s try to give more attention to them! So with this prize we must deliver it to eight bloggers that in turn must make the same thing and put this text.”
Thank you Allison! I love you, hoe!

Pumpkin Patch 2008
We decided to take the boys to a pumpkin patch today. There were lots of things to do there, but we did not do them all. The first thing we did was go through the hay bale maze, and shortly after entering Jaden realized he was tired. Jaden kept saying, "All done, all done." I took Jaden up the HUGE tower of hay bales after Chris and Jaden were done with the hay bale maze. Jaden was all about climbing up to the top. When we got to the top he wanted nothing to do with it, so I brought him down. When we got on the hay ride, to go to the actual pumpkin patch, Jaden started screaming, "Oww! Oww!" He says oww when he doesn't want to do something, or doesn't want you to do something to him (like clean his face after he's done eating). Once the hay ride started moving he was just fine. He had so much fun in the pumpkin patch. He picked out so many pumpkins, but we only took 4 home with us. After we were back to the main part of the farm I tried to take some pictures in the area with some pretty big pumpkins. Jaden just didn't want to stay still to have his picture taken, so we went home.
Here's the short, bumpy video I took on the hay ride back to the main part of the farm. The guy next to me was asking Jaden all sorts of questions.

Tag, I'm it!
I have been tagged for two different memes. This first meme asks that the person tagged has to post the 6th picture in their album. Well, I have over 50 albums, so it was a hard decision to make. I finally chose one of my Jaden albums. This was the 6th picture I took after getting my new camera for Christmas 2007. It was Jaden's 1st birthday party. I can't believe yet another year has almost come and gone already. Jaden will be 2 years old this coming December! My how time flies! This is a picture of his birthday cake. It was HUGE. I actually had the same cake on my 1st birthday. My grandma made it, and it was soooooo yummy!
Now I must tag some people and pass it on!

Now onto meme number 2. I have to post 7 things that are weird and random about me. I also have to post 6 things that nobody knows about me. I don't know that nobody knows, but I can assure you some people probably don't.
~Weird and Random~
1. Sprite is my favorite lemon-lime drink. I can drink 7-up and Sierra Mist, but they just aren't the same. I would much rather have a Sprite.
2. I have to wear socks to bed. I don't know why, but I just do.
3. I hate cleaning, but when I get around to doing it don't help me. As much as I would like the help, you would not put stuff away "correctly."
4. I dress my kids everyday. Lots of parents just keep sleepers of some sort on their newborns for a few months, but not my kids - they are dressed in pants and a shirt (or onesie) every single day...even if we aren't going anywhere.
5. I also like my kids to have shoes on when we go out. I'm just not the biggest fan of having them wear only socks. Jaden's old enough now that there's no way I would let him go anywhere without shoes, as he has to walk everywhere, but when he was a baby he wore shoes when we went out, and so does Carson.
6. I LOVE Harry Potter. I'm actually really upset that they pushed the release of the 6th movie into theaters back to the first weekend of July 2009 instead of next month! That's a really long time to wait!
7. I am deathly afraid of spiders. I have finally gotten up to the point where I can kill one the size of an ant, but if it's any bigger than that, I just can't push myself to get close enough to be able to kill it - I freeze.
~Things nobody knows~
1. Placement is everything. I have never been diagnosed, but I'm toally OCPD (the "P" stands for perfectionism). Pictures have to perfect on my wall - perfectly spaced and straight. I won't go into anymore details, because I would be typing forever, lol.
2. I'm scared to turn 30. I just had my 29th birthday a few weeks ago, so 30 is creaping up really fast. I will no longer be in my 20s, so therefore I will be "old."
3. I secretly (not so secret anymore, ha!) want to keep having kids. I don't want to have them throughout my 30s, and I won't, but the joy the two kids I already have brought to my life makes me want to have more. Three is our limit, though.
4. When I was 22 I got arrested. Don't worry, I didn't go to jail, or anything, but I did get searched, cuffed, and put into the back of a police car for questioning (yep, got read my rights, too). No, I didn't do anything wrong (except be in the same car as the two other people who were doing something illeagal).
5. I'm afraid my kids will grow up to hate me. I don't know why I have that fear - I just do.
6. I am disgusted with how I look. I vow that after I have my 3rd, and final, kid I will get my body back to where it once was.

There's a thief among us
In an earlier blog I posted that we got a Bumbo seat for Carson. Jaden thinks it's his. While Carson is hating his new seat Jaden is loving it. No matter how many times we tell Jaden it's not his, not to sit in it, or to get out of it, he's always doing just that. I had Carson up on the couch, right next to me, but took him out, because he got fussy in it. Jaden seized that opportunity and got up onto the couch and into the Bumbo, as he thinks it is his new toy, lol. I took the opportunity to take a couple pictures, but he just wasn't letting me. Every time he saw the camera he got up out of the seat. Here are the only two good pictures I got. And yes, he's wearing his infamous "hat."
He wears this basket on his head all day, everyday, I swear. This is the first picture I ever took of him wearing his "hat." He gets it, puts it on his head, and says over and over until I acknowledge him, "Hat, hat, hat." On this particular day he just had to have his "hat" on in order to finish eating his lunch.

Carson loves music and laughing for Daddy
Here are some videos of Carson. Sorry the last two are a bit dark - it was night time when I took them. The third video is so short, because my memory card ran out of room. In the first two you can obviously hear Jaden in the background.
Here's the picture I took right after I got done filming the above video.
